Work on your site from ChatGPT
Connect your own account, then ask for page and site changes in a normal chat.
You can ask ChatGPT to find a page, update its words, create a draft, publish it, change a menu, or adjust the parts of your site that Inkling lets you restyle. It works with your own Inkling account, so it can only do what you are allowed to do on the site.
You need a ChatGPT desktop app and an Inkling login for the site. You do not need to install code or copy a secret key.
Which account powers it?
When you use the Inkling connection inside ChatGPT, you work with your own ChatGPT account. Inky on the website uses the provider your administrator connected for the whole site. Editors do not need their own provider setup.
A ChatGPT sign-in that powers Inky directly on a hosted website requires approval from OpenAI and is not enabled in Inkling. An OpenAI API key uses separate API billing. Your administrator can review the integration requirements.
Connect once
- Open the ChatGPT desktop app. In Settings → Security and login, turn on Developer mode.
- Open ChatGPT Plugins and press +. Name the connection after your site, such as My site Inkling.
- Paste your site's ChatGPT connection address and press Create. Ask your site manager for it if you do not have it. The address ends in
/mcp, likehttps://your-site.example/mcp. - When asked to connect your account, sign in with the same email and password you use for that site's Inkling admin. Approve the connection.
- Start a new ChatGPT chat. Press +, choose your Inkling connection from More, and ask for a change in your own words.
Try it
Ask: “Find our returns page and make the first paragraph easier to read. Show me what you plan to change before saving it.”
Disconnect
In your Inkling admin, open Agent keys under advanced settings and revoke the key named ChatGPT connection. The connection stops working immediately. You can reconnect later.
