Asking Inky for things
The assistant in the corner, what it can do, and why it always asks first.
Once a provider is connected, a small button appears in the bottom-right corner of every screen. That is Inky.
It knows which screen you are on. Open a page, ask it to “make this shorter”, and there is no confusion about what this means.
Talk to it normally
You do not need to learn commands. Ask the way you would ask a colleague.
- “We need a page about our return policy.”
- “Reword the opening of the homepage — it goes on a bit.”
- “Add somewhere to put customer quotes.”
- “Take the old promotion off the menu.”
It proposes; you decide
Inky cannot change anything on its own. It reads your site, works out what you meant, and then shows you the change as a before-and-after. Nothing happens until you press Apply.
When you do, it is saved exactly as though you had typed it yourself — so it appears in the history under your name, and you can undo it like any other edit.
What it will not do
Inkling holds your content; it does not draw your website. Colours, fonts, spacing and layout live in your site's own code, which Inky cannot see or change.
Ask for something visual and it will find the content-shaped version of the request — “make the hero say less” rather than “make the hero bigger” — and tell you plainly which part belongs to whoever builds your site.
