A bubble for your visitors
An assistant on your public site that answers from what you have published.
Separately from Inky, you can put a chat bubble on your public website. It answers visitors' questions using only what you have published, and it follows rules you write.
It is a plugin rather than a built-in feature, on purpose: it is the one place where strangers spend your AI budget, so it should be a deliberate decision with an obvious switch.
Setting it up
- Enable the Site assistant plugin on the Plugins screen.
- Open its settings and write your Guardrails — your house rules, in plain sentences. What it must never promise, and when to send someone to a human.
- List the sites allowed to use the bubble. Until you do, it answers nobody. That is the default and it is deliberate.
- Turn on Show a bubble on the public site, and give your developer the one line of code it shows you.
Guardrails worth writing
Be specific. It follows these literally.
- “Never quote a price or a lead time — those change weekly.”
- “For custom orders, point people at the contact page.”
- “If you don't know, say so and offer the contact page.”
