Editing the page you can see

Click your actual page, change its words or pictures, arrange sections, and save when ready.

Open an existing page under Pages in the sidebar. It opens directly in the editor; choose Edit page if needed. You will see the page beside its editing controls. You do not need to work with code.

Change words or a picture

  1. Double-click the words or picture on the page. The matching controls open under Content beside it. A single click selects the item.
  2. Make the change in those controls. For a picture, choose a file from your library. The page preview updates as you work.
  3. Use the Editing list to choose another section if you cannot easily click it on the page. Choose All content to see the page's other fields.

For a formatted heading, select words and press Italic, or press Enter to start a new line. The controls show the text as it will look.

Actions for the item you selected

Right-click an item for its editing actions, or select it and press the visible Actions button. Keyboard users can press Shift + F10 on a preview item, use the arrow keys, and press Enter.

Choose Ask Inky to open a conversation about that exact item. It appears beside the item on a computer and in a panel on a phone. Check the name after About:, describe the change, and review what Inky proposes before pressing Apply.

Edit the header or footer

Click the header, navigation, logo, or footer in the preview. Its shared controls open beside the same page. Click another page element to keep editing, or press Back to page content. You can also open the separate Header & footer screen from Home.

Choose the part you want, edit its controls, and press its Save button. The preview refreshes after saving. These changes apply across the website. Your unsaved page edits stay in the designer while you work on shared details. Before leaving an edited shared part, choose Save and switch, Keep editing, or Discard and switch. A failed save keeps your edits and shows the problem.

Arrange or hide sections

  1. Choose Sections beside the page.
  2. Use a section's up or down arrow to move it. A greyed-out arrow means it cannot move in that direction.
  3. Use its eye button to hide it from visitors. The list will say Hidden from visitors, and the section looks faded in the editor. Press the button again to show it.

Hiding a section keeps its content. You can show it again later. These changes affect the page you are editing.

You can also right-click a section for Move section up, Move section down, and Hide section or Show section. These are unsaved changes until you press Save.

Check it, then save

  1. Press the phone icon above the page to check the narrow preview. The computer icon returns to the wider view.
  2. Use Preview page for a separate tab without the editing controls. For an existing page, this includes your current changes without saving them.
  3. Press Save live changes to update a page visitors can already see, or Save draft to keep work on a page that is still private. Wait for Saved before leaving.

If saving fails, the error stays above the editor and your edits stay on screen. Follow the named field or message, correct it, and save again. If the preview fails, use Try preview again; the controls still hold your edits.

Change an item shown on the page

A catalog, news list, or similar section may show items managed separately. Select that section and use its Open button, such as Open Products, to find the item. Save any page changes before leaving. Edit the item itself to change its title, picture, availability, or whether it is published.

To remove an item from the website while keeping it in Inkling, open it and choose Take off website. Use Move to trash for a mistaken or duplicate item after checking that you have the right one. An availability label and whether an item is published are separate settings.

Publishing and earlier versions

Choose All fields & publishing for every field, the publishing controls, and History. That is where you can schedule a page, send it for review, or restore an earlier saved version. Switching between the two editor views keeps your current edits.

Prefer to ask for the change? Open Inky, describe what you want, and review its proposed change before pressing Apply. A failed Apply keeps its error on the card; it is only saved when the card says applied.
