Showing a draft to someone
Send an unfinished page to a person who has no account, without publishing it.
Sometimes a client, or a colleague who does not use the CMS, needs to see something before it goes live. You do not have to publish it and you do not have to make them an account.
Open the entry and create a share link. You get a web address you can send to anybody. It opens the page as it currently stands, draft and all.
What the link does and does not do
- It shows one entry, not your whole site. It is not a back door.
- It expires by itself, about an hour after you make it. If they come back tomorrow they will need a new one.
- It needs no account and no password. Anyone with the link can view it, so treat it as you would treat an email attachment.
