Set up Facebook
Connect a Facebook Page to Inkling without confusing it with your personal profile.
Inkling posts to a Facebook Page, not to a personal profile. You need to be an admin of that Page.
Allow about 20 minutes when the Page belongs to you. If an agency is posting for a Page it does not manage, Meta may also require App Review.
Before you begin
- Open the Page on Facebook and confirm you can reach its settings.
- Have the phone used for Facebook security checks nearby.
- Open Inkling in a second tab at Social media → Network setup → Facebook.
Make Facebook's badge for Inkling
- Go to developers.facebook.com, sign in, and press Get Started if Facebook asks you to become a developer. This does not change your public profile.
- Open My Apps → Create App. Choose Other, then choose the Business app type. Link the business portfolio that owns your Page when asked.
- On the new app's dashboard, find Facebook Login, press Set up, and choose Web. Enter your public website address. Skip the code examples — Inkling already handles that part.
- Open Facebook Login → Settings. Paste the Redirect URI from Inkling into Valid OAuth Redirect URIs, then save.
- Open App settings → Basic. Copy App ID into Inkling's Client ID box. Press Show beside App secret, confirm your password, and copy it into Client secret.
- Back in Inkling, press Save and switch on. Then open Social media → Connected accounts, press Connect beside Facebook, and approve the Page you want.
You are finished when…
Your Facebook Page's name and picture appear under Social media → Connected accounts. Open the Page itself to make sure it is the company Page, not a similarly named test Page.
