Set up LinkedIn
Attach a LinkedIn app to the company Page, enable sharing, and connect the person who will post.
LinkedIn requires a company Page before it will let you create an app. The person doing this should be an admin of that Page.
Inkling's standard connection posts as the person who connects it. Posting as a company Page uses a separate LinkedIn approval process.
Set it up
- Confirm the company has a LinkedIn Page and that your LinkedIn profile is one of its admins.
- Go to linkedin.com/developers and choose Create app. Attach the company Page, add a logo, and follow LinkedIn's link to verify that you control the Page.
- Open the app's Products tab. Request Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect and Share on LinkedIn. Both are needed; the second is what allows posts.
- Open the Auth tab. Under Authorized redirect URLs for your app, paste the Redirect URI from Inkling.
- On the same tab, copy Client ID and Primary Client Secret into Inkling.
- Save and switch on LinkedIn in Inkling, then connect the LinkedIn profile under Social media → Connected accounts.
You are finished when…
The name of the person who approved access appears under Social media → Connected accounts. If you expected the company Page's name, stop: standard LinkedIn connection posts as that person.
